KARL DONITZ
(1891 - 1980) German admiral who headed the U-Boat arm of the German Navy, later succeeded Hitler as Fuehrer after Hitler's suicide. Signed reprint of an official document, 1p. 4to., previously issued by Donitz as Fuehrer on May 6, 1945, authorizing Generaloberst Jodl to negotiate a ceasefire with the headquarters of General Eisenhower, signing at the conclusion in blue ink and dating it: '2.3.79'. Fine.
