KARL DONITZ
(1891 - 1980) German admiral who headed the U-Boat arm of the German Navy, later succeeded Hitler as Fuehrer after Hitler's suicide. Signed reprint of an official document, 1p. 4to., previously issued by Donitz as Fuehrer in May 7, 1945, nominating three high-ranking German officials to represent the three branches of the Wehrmacht at the German surrender to Allied forces. Donitz signs in blue ink at the conclusion. Fine.
