DWIGHT D. EISENHOWER

(1890 - 1969) 34th President of the United States, Supreme Commander of Allied forces in Europe during World War II and largely responsible for the successful invasion on D-Day. War-date T.L.S. on 'Allied Force Headquarters', 1p. 8vo., [n.p.], Sept. 2, 1943, an incredibly nostalgic letter sent to Mr. Richard A. Norris, likely his friend or acquaintance. Through the letter, Eisenhower reminisces of home and life after the end of the war, in part: '...I still think I am a good fisherman, and look forward to the day when I can loll on a grassy bank by a quiet stream and watch the bobber. I don't think I shall care whether I get any fish. When I come to Kingston's I'll sit in front of the fire and listen to the others tell the fish stories. Please give my regards to Paul Stone...' Eisenhower signs at the conclusion in black ink. Horizontal fold, else fine condition. With transmittal envelope.
