JAMES EARL RAY
(1928 - 1998) Assassin of Martin Luther King whom he killed in Memphis in 1968. T.L.S. "James", 1p. 4to., [Brushy Mountain State Prison], Oct. 31, 1979, to his wife Anna Sandhu Ray whom he married in jail in 1978. In part: "�received a letter from April today, I would send it to you but she refers to laws suit citations which I may need�also received a letter from Mike Newton, the Author in Las Vegas, his book about the case is coming out in February�Just now I am typing up a suit�in Malpractice against our friend, Percy Foreman�The only suits of importance are the Archives suit & the petition for a new trial�" James signs at the conclusion in black ink, adding "Love you angel". Some creasing, one spot of foxing, else very good.
