JOHN GLENN
(1921 - 2016) American astronaut, the first American to orbit the Earth on February 20, 1962 and also became the oldest man to travel in space. His book "John Glenn: A Memoir", (New York: Bantam Books), 1999. 8vo. 422pp., with dust jacket. Glenn signs in black ink, one page before the title page. Fine. Sold with an unsigned photograph, 5 x 7 in. glossy b/w, of the astronaut in his space suit and a Smithsonian ticket to a lecture he had held on the 40th anniversary of Apollo 11.
