Scarce book: "The Sexual Life of Savages" by Bronislaw Malinowski (New York: Harcourt, Brace and Company), 1929. 603pp. 8vo. in black cloth boards and yellow title on the spine. The book provides a Eurocentric attempt to unveil "...the sex taboos..." among the Trobriand Islanders off the coast of New Guinea, detailing their people's sexual rituals and social codes and featuring 91 b/w related illustrations. Covers slightly broken at the gutter, some splits at the spine, yet interior pages still securely bound. Very good. A very important work of the time.
