Oil on canvas. Signed lower left: "Karl Kaufmann Mchen (?)".The painting depicts the harbor of a European city. The canvas is in good condition, with a uniform craquelure on a colorful surface.Karl Kaufmann (1843-1905) studied at the Academy of Vienna. The artist specialized in landscape and architectural painting, traveled extensively in European countries, painted landscapes in Norway, the Netherlands, Germany and Italy. Often signed his paintings with pseudonyms.
