Architecture 1949-1965 by Philip Johnson : 1st Ed May 1967

The buildings themselves--as it should be in a work of an architect--are Mr. Johnson's "text." The introductory essay by Henry-Russell Hitchcock is essentially historical, defining the aesthetic and cultural environment of Johnson's place in the history of modern architecture. Fifty-one color plates with plans cover all of Johnson's major buildings. In addition, relevant plans and drawings complement Hitchcock's text. The volume is completed by a thorough chronology of all of Johnson's architecture and a bibliography of writings by and about the architect.
