Male and Female Seated Ifugao Rice Gods, Bulul
Hand carved wood seated Filipino Bulul statues, male and female. Both figures are primitively carved with matching details including slightly oversized and odd shaped heads, arms with incised linier details to show fingers, and very slender straight legs without feet, leading to the base they sit on. Depicted seated with arms resting on knees pulled to their chest. Holes in their heads where hair detailing would have been. Size of largest 17 1/4" H, size of smallest 16 1/4" H
Condition: Dark mottled patina throughout commensurate with consecration ceremonies including pig or chicken blood. Some split to wood as shown.
