Good Balato Sword w/ Scabbard
Indonesia, Nias Islands. Good Balato sword with scabbard and belt. The handle in characteristic form wood carved with metal wrapped decoration and copper pins emulating an animal head. Engraved illegibly to the ricasso, straight single edge blade with a thick back spine. The top with a downward pointed upper side to a rounded point like a machete. Wood scabbard with rattan wrapping and a later attached belt. Size 26 3/4" L, blade 19 3/4" L
