Black & White Paneled Cabasset, 1580-1650
European, Cabasset type helm circa 1580-1650 in the black and white fashion with paneled decoration hand hammered. Known for their "Pear Stalk" peak and folded edge rim hammered from a single sheet of steel, debossed with recessed black painted panels, and a roped edge. Early repairs to the skull from use with two holes punched to the brim at either side. Size 8" H x 10" L
