Mexican Ex Voto "Prayer to the Mother and Christ Child" Painting, Circa 1887
Mexican Ex Voto dated 1887 to lower right painted on tin with text to lower section. The painting depicts pilgrim in worship and prayer to the Virgin Mother and Christ Child, the pilgrim is knelt at the base of a great field and fertile land probably in prayer with a single illuminating candle. 13 1/4" W x 8 3/4" H
