Large Deluxe Fire Pumper - Cast Iron Toy
Made by the Dent Hardware Company. Fullerton, Pa. - Circa 1912 - 22" Long. From the Gertrude Hegarty Collection. Purchased from Donal Markey. Cast iron toys with the "Hegarty-Markey" history of ownership are valued greatly by modern day collectors. Initially, Gertrude had been given a significant caché of horse drawn fire toys made by Dent Hardware as a wedding present from her father in the late 1920's. This historic grouping represented unused shop stock from an earlier Christmas. For decades, the Hegarty's used these mint treasures as "traders" to acquire pieces they did not have.
Condition: Near Mint Condition.
