Teshuvos HaRosh - Responsa of Rebbeinu Asher, Venice 1552.

A complete copy of Teshuvos HaRosh, printed in Venice in 1552. Second edition. Many marginal notes and handwritten corrections are present in this copy, mostly in Italian and Sephardic hand. An additional Ashkenazic scholarly gloss is seen on pp. 154 (partially trimmed). Many leaves heavily censored.

Various ownership inscriptions and stamps are seen on title page, including that of Meyer Auerbach (quite possibly R. Meir Auerbach of Jerusalem, author of Imrei Binah), and “Shlomo Zalman Auerbach” (we could not verify this to be a genuine autograph of the famed Posek R. Shlomo Zalman Auerbach of Jerusalem although strikingly similar). Also seen are ownership stamps of “Wolf HaKohen from Zalchin”. His identity is unknown, however there was indeed a Ze’ev Wolf from Zalchin who was the grandfather of R. Meir Auerbach (his father R. Itzik Auerbach was his son-in-law), so possibly this individual was a close relative of R. Meir Auerbach.

In fair-moderate condition. Top portion of title page trimmed and attached to paper for support. Stains to some leaves, sometimes large, not affecting text. Occasional worming to inner margins, not affecting text. Marginal notes and glosses seen on the following pages: 14, 15, 16, 19, 28, 39, 40, 154.

158 pp.

Vinograd, Venice 451.
