19th c. Asian Carved Dragon Hardwood Armchair
Ornately carved Asian, possibly Japanese export, lacquered hardwood armchair, depicting profuse mythical and geometric motifs throughout in high relief; the armrests in the form of dragons chasing flaming pearls, late 19th to early 20th century.
Height: 33 in x width: 28 in x depth: 23 in.
Condition: The chair appears structurally sound and stable. There are no major breaks, losses, or signs of restoration. There are some fleabite and small chips to the lacquer throughout along high points of the carved details. Some separation to the joints throughout. Dust gathered along the recessed areas.
