Lrg 20th c. African Wooden Senufo Helmet Mask
Large West African Senufo carved wooded helmet mask depicting a hyena's head with its mouth ajar, early 20th century.
Provenance: From Dayton's Kenwood Shop; Private Minnesota Collection.
Height: 10 1/2 in x width: 13 in x depth: 17 in.
Condition: Several minute scratches, splits, and small chips throughout, particularly along the edges of the ears. There is a split running along the right side of the mask from the corner of its mouth to the back of the mask, culminating in a small chip. Wear along the surface throughout. Dust gathered throughout, especially along the interior of the mask.
