Theo Faberge Rose Garden Glass Egg
Theo Faberge (British, 1922-2007). Iconic "Rose Garden" Faberge egg. The glass egg with a beveled side featuring a bouquet of multi-hued roses surrounded by a garland of gilt leaves. With a gilt trellis surrounding flowering branches. Mounted to a gilt metal base with a gilt metal crown adorning the top of the egg. Marked and numbered 156 along the underside. Housed in a custom carrying case. There is a certificate of authenticity included with the egg.

Theo Faberge was the son of Nicholas Faberge and the grandson of Russian Imperial jeweler Carl Faberge.

Provenance: From the Estate of Horst Rechelbacher, Osceola, Wisconsin.

(Egg) height: 5 1/2 in x width: 3 in x depth: 2 3/4 in. (Box) height: 7 1/2 in x width: 6 1/2 in x depth: 6 1/2 in.
Condition: The egg is in good condition overall. There are no scratches, cracks, or losses to the glass. There are no losses to the enamel or gilt decoration. The silver gilt crown has some loss to the gilding. The finial atop the crown is bent, see photos in listing. There is some wear and a few minor areas of discoloration to the base, particularly around the edges. The case is in good condition. There is some wear to the velvet interior, primarily located to where the egg rests. There is one small area of wear along the top of the case. Some wear to the handle.
