Hasui Kawase "Moon at Magome" Woodblock Print
Hasui Kawase (Japanese, 1883-1957). Japanese shin-hanga woodblock print titled "Moon at Magome, " from the series “Twenty Views of Tokyo (Tokyo nijukei, Umagome no tsuki), " depicting a evening field with a full moon partially obscured in the background, 1930. With a Watanabe publisher's seal along the lower right corner.
Artwork; height: 14 1/4 in x width: 9 1/2 in. Paper; height: 16 in x width: 11 in.
Condition: The print is in generally good condition. The sheet is toned. There are a few shallow scratches along the surface of the print, the longest measuring approximately 5 inches. There are several small tears along the extreme edges of the print along the margins, the most noticeable along the inscription in the lower left margin. The print has been affixed to a thin piece of chipboard cardboard. Please contact us for a detailed condition report.
