Sevres Style Porcelain Urn Queen Louise 27 in
Large French old Paris Sevres style porcelain urn decorated with a hand painted portrait likely of Queen Louise of Prussia (Louise of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, 1776-1810). The other side with a portrait of an unknown woman. Both portraits within gilt scrollwork cartouches against a cream ground. The neck and base with a turquoise (bleu celeste) ground. The inside of the lid is inscribed with a Sevres mark indicating a date of 1771. Fitted with gilt bronze mounts.
