Dr. Philip Gould a distinguished Professor of Chinese Art at Columbia University and Sarah Lawrence College, was in his personal life a passionate collector of tribal art and artifacts from around the world. This auction features many pieces from Dr. Gould's collection of African textiles and artifacts. The collection includes examples of Kuba Textiles, Kente Textiles and Coptic Textile Fragments. Also featured are Masks, Carved Figures, Fetish Objects, Cast Bronze Objects, Currency Cuffs and Hoes, Iron Currency, Throwing Knives, Terra Cotta Figures and Vessels.
