Jimenez, Angelico & Isaias, woodcarving, small frog alebrije, 2008, signed on bottom by both brothers, fair condition, both fore legs have been broken and repaired and small chips in wood on hind legs, carving size: 5.5x10.5x4.5 inches. Angelico and Isaias Jimenez, Oaxaca, MX are the sons of master woodcarver Manuel Jimenez. Manuel Jimenez is credited with the development of the tradition of exquisite wooden folk art sculptures in Mexico. The Jimenez brother’s work is featured in art books, magazines and is included in museums and private collections worldwide. The work of Angelico and Isaias Jimenez represents the most authentic of these sculptures. Angelico and Isaias have clearly inherited their father’s skills and are well-established and renowned for their work.
