"אל מול פני מנורה הטהורה, שר התורה, כ"ק מרן בעל חזון איש המפורסם... הנה בעוה"ר זה שבועות הרבה אשר נחלתי ר"ל על המרה, והייתי בבית החולים, וכבר הוטב קצת... והרופאים ציווי עלי שלא לאכול לחם ולא חלה רק מצות, ועלה בדעתי להסתפק אם המאשין מצות שהם דקים מאד עד שלא נשאר לחם מה דינם לענין ברכת המוציא..."
Rabbi Yisrael Weltz (1887-1973), studied under Rabbi Yosef Leib Sofer of Paks, Rabbi Shmuel Gottlieb of Papa and Rabbi Akiva Sofer of Pressburg. Son-in-law of Rabbi Chaim Efraim Balaiti of Tarnalia. Rabbi of Tinie (from 1913), where he established a Yeshiva. After WWI he served as Rabbi of the Pest district (of Budapest), where he also headed a Yeshiva, and became known as one of the leading rabbis in Hungary. During WWII he survived in hiding, and after the war, emigrated to Eretz Yisrael, where he was renowned as a leading halachic authority. Author of Divrei Yisrael (three volumes of responsa) and Chok Leyisrael.
