Draft Leaf of Kehillos Yaakov with Glosses and Additions by 'The Steipler'!
Rabbi Yaakov Yisroel Kanievsky, author of the Kehilos Yaakov [1899-1985] Gedol Hador. Was born to a family of Horonsteipel Chassidim and was named after the holy Rav Rabbi Yaakov Yisroel of Tsherkas. Studied at the Novhardok yeshiva and married the sister of the Chazon Ish. For many years was the right hand man of his great brother-in-law. After the passing of the Chazon Ish, he was gradually acknowledged as the leader of the Lithuanian Bnei Torah and as one of the greatest leaders and Tzaddikim of the generation. His succeeding son is the great Gaon Rabbi Chaim Kanievsky.
