Long Response regarding an Aguna by Rabbi Yitzchak Zvi Sofer Rabbi of Timisvora, to Rabbi Moshe Dovid Ostreicher Ab"d Chimpa, Temisvora 1948.
Rabbi Moshe Dovid Ostreicher (1883-1954), was a talmid of R. Tzvi Hirsch of Munkacs (Darkei Teshuva), R. Yehuda Greenfeld and R. Yehuda Grunewald. Known as a tremendous Talmid Chochom and great Posek, he served as Rov in Tchimpa and later Arad. Miraculously surviving the Holocaust, after the war he was greatly involved in helping Agunos after the war. He later immigrated to New York, settling in Williamsburg where he was held in great esteem.
