Rare Historic Item! Gemara Shabbas, Vilna V'Horadna 1836, with the pages of the Approbations!
In 1835, the printer Rabbi Menachem Man Ram began printing the Shas, so the Slavita printers arose and claimed that the printing ban they received in 1817 had not yet expired for 15 years, but the Ram printers claimed that they had already sold all the Shasim they had. Therefore there is no point in banning printing, henceforth each side has collected agreements from the greats of the generation side by side in its opinion and the matter has become a major controversy among the sages of the generation.
This volume includes the rare Kuntress called "Bidvar Emes V'tzedek" which has over 50 letters from Rabbanim who are allowing the Vilna printers to print their Shas. Has a letters from R' Akiva Eiger, Chasam Sofer, R' Avraham Abli of Vilna and many more.
