letter by R' Yehoshua Neuwirth, author of the famed classic Shemiras Shabbos K’Hilchasa. Written to R' Ovadia Yosef, with Rosh HaShana greetings and lauding his efforts on behalf of Taharas Ha’Mishpocho. The other two are written to the Ezras Torah organization in New York.
R' Yehoshua Neuwirth (1927-2013), was born in Berlin, Germany, to R. Aaron who was the Rav of a number of German Kehillos. During the War, his family lived in hiding and the only sefer the young boy had with him was the Mishna Berurah on Hilchos Shabbos, in which he became proficient at a young age. In 1946, he emigrated to Yerusholayim, where he studied in the Kol Torah Yeshiva, becoming one of the closest students of R. Shlomo Zalman Auerbach. His Sefer Shemiras Shabbos K’Hilchasa, is one the most widely accepted Seforim on Hilchos Shabbos.
