Receipt for a donation to the Sfas Emes Yeshiva, the flagship Yeshiva of the Chasidus, signed by the venerated Imrei Emes.
R' Avrohom Mordechai Alter (1866-1948), known as the Imrei Emes, was the third Rebbe of the illustrious Gur dynasty. He was primarily a talmid of his father, R. Yehuda Leib Alter (Sfas Emes). The Imrei Emes led his Chasidim for 43 years, and was the most influential Rebbe in Poland in the inter war period, with tens of thousands of Chasidim. The Rebbe was also one of the founders of the Agudas Yisroel movement. After miraculously escaping the Holocaust, the Rebbe settled in Yerusholayim where he was niftar on Shavuos.
