Shulchan Aruch HaRav from the Rebbe the Beis Yisroel: Shulchan Aruch HaRav Two Sections - Important Edition Warsaw, 1839-1840

Shulchan Aruch Admor Hazaken, three volumes containing the sections of Orach Chim and Yoreh Deah. An important revised edition that was printed in Warsaw during the years 1839-1840. Fine, ancient leather bindings. Some moth perforations. Stains. Good overall condition.

On the title pages, a stamp: "מעזבון רבינו ה"בית ישראל" זצוק"ל" - indicating this copy was owned by the Admor, the Beis Yisroel of Ger. This edition is considered important among Chassidim and especially Ger Chassidim since the holy Rav Rabbi Mordechai Alter, the son of the Chidushei HaRim and the father of the Sefas Emes was involved in the publishing of this edition, which was the first edition published outside of Russia and for the first time, included a non-Chassidic approbation by the Av Beit Din of Warsaw Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Lifshitz, author of the Chemdat Shlomo (see more in Sifrei Halacha shel Admor Hazaken by Yehoshua Mondshine p. 25 and onwards and p. 68 and onwards).

The Admor Rabbi Yisrael Alter, the Beis Yisroel of Ger (1895-1977) was the son of the Admor the Imrei Emes of Ger. He was the 5th Admor of the Ger dynasty and was responsible for restoring the Chassidut after the Holocaust. He was a leading public figure in the Chareidi world of Israel. He is known by the name of his writings, the Beis Yisroel, which were published after his passing. In addition to his role as the Rebbe and leader of Ger, he also served as head of Mo'etzet Gedolei HaTorah. In this capacity, he had great influence on the conduct of Agudas Yisroel, which was founded by his father. He was known as holy and pure, sharp, generous, and a wonder worker, one of the greatest Admorim in the world.
