Sefer Yesod: Ma’avar Yabok—first edition, Mantua 1626.
Ma’avar Yabok, “an exegesis on how man should act in this World until his death, lest he die without knowledge.” A precious kabbalistic work about the transfer from this world to Olam Habaa, composed of four sections: Siftei Tzedek, Sfat Emet, Siftei Renanot, and Ater Anan HaKetoret…”. Written by Rabbi Aharon Berachya ben Moshe of Modena, who lived in the first half of the 17th century.
First edition: Mantua 1626. 1-40 leaves, 41-55 pages, 57-84 leaves, 1-46, 149-162, 155-172 leaves (the pagination is faulty in part). The National Library and Tel Aviv University catalogue it in the Rare Books section. Stefanski Sifrei Yesod 448.
This work includes a prayer set for the sick and dying, and a seder viduy for the moment of death. Over the years a kitzur of the work was published. Back of the title page: “Chida al HaMita”. New, handsome leather binding, stains, professional repairs to a few pages (often damaging the text), signs of use, overall good condition (esp. for a book as old and rare as this).
