Pedigreed first edition. Shut Maharam Alashkar - Sabbioneta, 1554. 


By Rabbi Moshe Alashkar (1466-1546). Was born in Spain, studied in Toledo and then moved to Tunis where he headed the Jewish community alongside Rabbi Avraham Zacuto. Later, he moved to Cairo, where he served as a Dayan at the Beis Din of the Radbaz. 


Siman 117 is an important layer in the defense of the Rambam's Moreh Nevochim, responding to the critique of Sefer HaEmunot by Rabbi Shem Tov ben Rabbi Shem Tov.

Originally, 199, [1] leaves. In this copy, the first four leaves are missing.
