A Mid-Atlantic Federal Figured Mahogany Ladies Sewing / Work Table, Early 19th Century
The hinged astragal-end top enclosing a removable partitioned tray, revealing an open interior, all above a single dovetailed drawer, turned wood pulls to either side, the square reeded stiles terminating in turned and reeded tapered legs, each ending with brass casters. Tulip poplar and pine secondary wood.
Dimensions: Height 28 1/2in; width 24 1/2in; depth 13in.
Provenance: From a Local Collection.
Condition:
Structurally sound. Minor shrinkage, age cracks and movement to veneers. The back board with a significant horizontal age cracks with patched-in restoration. No key.
