An American Queen Anne Mahogany Side Chair, Mid 18th Century

The yoked crest above a solid vasiform splat, flanked by shaped stiles over a tapestry fragment upholstered trapezoidal slip seat, shaped seat rails, raised on cabriole legs joined by turned stretchers, ending in pad feet. 

Dimensions: Height 39in; width 22in; depth of seat 15 1/4in; seat height 19in.

Provenance: From a Local Collection. 


Condition:

Structurally sound. The chair with repairs and restorations throughout . The front right has been rebuilt and reattached to the leg. Significant old damage from wood worm with scattered areas of loss. All glue blocks underneath seat are replaced. The tapestry upholstered slip seat is in generally good condition overall with typical wear, loss and fading commensurate with age and use.
