A New Jersey Green and Black-Painted Softwood Firkin, Edgar Brick & Sons, Crosswicks, 19th Century. Having a bentwood bail handle, staved, finger-joint banded with tack construction. With two applied printed paper labels inscribed, "BRICK'S NOPAREIL MINCE MEAT, EDGAR BRICK & SONS, CROSSWICKS, N.J."
Dimensions: Height including handle 14in; diameter 10 1/4in.
Provenance: Property from the Collection of C. Thomas Attix Jr., East Windsor, New Jersey.
Condition:
Retaining its original surface and paper labels to exterior. General marks, wear, abrasions, surface scratches and small losses throughout. The lid and band finger-jointed band are not securely fastened. With heavy wear and losses to the printed paper labels.
