His collection reflects his interest in the Delaware Valley, with an emphasis on mid 18th through early 19th century silversmiths and figured hardwoods vetted by his discerning eye for form and surface. Among the highlights are a Thomas Stretch Philadelphia clock, a collection of figured maple furniture, and silver by noted makers such as Joseph Richardson Sr. and Richard Humphreys.

A Sheraton Birdseye Maple Doll Bed, Second Quarter 19th Century. In four parts, the highly figured headboard and footboard with scrolled ears and applied roundels. The turned posts ending in brass casters.

Dimensions: Height 23 1/4in; width 18 1/2in; length 26 1/2in.

Provenance: Property from the Collection of C. Thomas Attix Jr., East Windsor, New Jersey.


Condition:

Structurally sound. Retaining an old surface. Horizontal age cracks to the headboard and footboard, otherwise honest condition.
