Pennsylvania Sheraton Tiger and Figured Maple Work Stand
A Pennsylvania Sheraton Tiger and Figured Maple Work Stand, First Quarter 19th Century. The rectangular hinged top over two flame grained drawers with incised beading and pressed brass pulls, lion mask bail handles to either side of case, raised on tapering turned legs. Tulip poplar secondary wood.
Dimensions: Height 31 1/4in; width 19 1/4in; depth 16in.
Provenance: Property from the Collection of C. Thomas Attix Jr., East Windsor, New Jersey.
Condition:
Structurally sound. Retaining an old surface. General marks, wear, abrasions, shrinkage and minor age cracks throughout. There is a horizontal age crack to the back of case. Slight warping to the one-board hinged top. One pressed brass pull is a later replacement (original retained in drawer). Verdigris to lion mask handles. No key.
