Pennsylvania Queen Anne Walnut Drop-Leaf Dining Table
A Pennsylvania Queen Anne Walnut Drop-Leaf Dining Table, Mid 18th Century. The rectangular top with drop leaves having single notched corners, a shaped skirt to either end, raised on cabriole legs terminating in well developed trifid feet. Tulip poplar secondary wood and oak flying rails.
Dimensions: Height 28 1/4in; width 37 1/4in; depth closed 16 1/2in; length open 49 1/2in.
Provenance: Property from the Collection of C. Thomas Attix Jr., East Windsor, New Jersey.
Condition:
Structurally sound. Retaining an old warm surface. Good oxidation throughout to underside. General marks, wear, abrasions and surface scratches. The top boards with minor shrinkage and movement. Iron braces added to the underside to pull shrinking boards back together.
