English Inlaid Mahogany Tambour Lap Desk, 19th Century
An English Inlaid Mahogany Tambour Lap Desk, First Half 19th Century. The hinged top opening to reveal a baize lined writing slope above a single dovetailed drawer.
Dimensions: Height 8in; width 16 1/4in; depth 10 1/2in.
Condition:
Structurally sound. Retaining an old dark and dry surface. Heavy wear and scattered small losses of veneers throughout. The top with age cracks and shrinkage throughout. The interior with a tear to the baize and leather hinges. No key. Dust accumulation to crevices.
