Regency Rosewood Crossbanded Mahogany Sofa Table
A Regency Inlaid Mahogany Sofa Table, First Quarter 19th Century. The rosewood crossbanded and string inlaid top with hinged elliptic drop flaps to either end, above a frieze fitted with two genuine oak lined drawers to one side and two false drawers to the other, the supports joined by a shaped stretcher, ending with four gilt bronze figural lion sabots, raised on brass casters.
Dimensions: Height28 1/4in; width 28 1/2in; width open 59 1/2in; depth 27 1/4in.
Condition:
Structurally sound. The top with typical marks, wear, scuffs, and surface scratches. Minor movement to veneers. The circular brass hardware has been replaced in a new set of holes obscuring the original holes to drawer fronts. Minor losses to veneer. Old professional restoration, repair and reinforcement to two legs. No keys.
