French Provincial Regence Walnut Commode
A French Provincial Regence Walnut Commode, First Half 18th Century. The rectangular top with slight serpentine front over a conforming case fitted with three short drawers over two long drawers.
Dimensions: Height 32in; width 49 1/2in; depth 22 1/2in.
Condition:
Structurally sound. In an overall refinished condition. With significant restoration, rebuilding and reconfigurations. The mortise and tenon joints with re-pinning. Evidence of old wood worm. Scattered filling-in to areas of shrinkage and age cracks. Typical marks, wear, scuffs, surface scratches and small losses. Period hardware is later replaced. Plugged holes to drawer fronts. No keys.
