Anglo-Indian Carved Sandalwood Lap Desk
An Anglo-Indian carved sandalwood lap desk, mid 19th century, profusely carved, having a two-hinged top enclosing a fitted interior and purple baize lined writing surface with a small well below fitted with two small drawers.
Dimensions:Height 6 3/4in; width 16in; depth 12in.
Condition:Shrinkage and warping to the hinged lids. Minor losses to carved elements on the case throughout, otherwise in generally good condition overall. The purple baize lined interior with overall fading and wear. No key.
