An English Wheel and Aneroid Barometer
An English mother-of-pearl inlaid inlaid ebonized wheel barometer, mid 19th century, the engraved brass dial inscribed D. THOMAS & SON, / Aberystwyth., having a subsidiary brass DRY / DAMP dial, thermometer scale, and level, together with an English carved oak circular aneroid barometer.
Dimensions:height of wheel barometer 40 1/4in; width 12in; depth 1 1/2in; diameter of aneroid barometer 9in.
Provenance:From a Main Line collection.
Condition: The wheel barometer with general marks, wear, small losses, scuffs and surface scratches to the case. The brass with general wear and toning. The aneroid barometer with cracked glass. Otherwise appears to be in generally good condition. The mercury is still present in both barometers.
