Important work of novella on Shulchan Aruch Choshen Mishpat by R. Eliezer Halibut (Berlin). With rare approbations from R. Akiva Eiger and R. Yaakov Lorberbaum (Chavas Da’as-Nesivos HaMishpat).
R. Eliezer Halibut (Berlin) (1740-1814), served as a Dayan in Posen and later succeeded R. Refoel Ha’Cohen as Rosh Beis Din in the joint comminutes of Altona, Hamburg and Wandsbeck (AH”U). During the Napoleonic wars and the ensuing tumult he served as a community liaison, between Napoleon and the Jewish community.
