Avodas Levi. Rav Ruderman. First Edition. Keidan 1930. Deluxe Copy! The R. Mottel Katz Copy.
Novella on Kodshim and Taharos by R. Yaakov Yitzchok Ruderman. Published when the author was 30 years old. With the important approbations of the D’var Avrohom and R. Moshe Mordechai Epstein.
R. Yaakov Yitzchok Ruderman (1900-1987), was born in a small town near Vilna, where his father was Rav. He learned in the Slabodka Yeshiva and has a particularly close connection to the Alter. He married the daughter of R. Sheftel Kramer, and in 1930, he joined R. Sheftel at the latter’s Yeshiva in New Haven, Connecticut. In 1933, R. Ruderman moved to Baltimore, where he became Rav of the Tiferes Yisroel Shul, and subsequently founded the Ner Yisroel Yeshiva, where he taught generations of Talmidim.
With the stamps of R. Mottel Katz, Rosh Yeshivas Telz.
R. Chaim Mordechai Katz (1894-1964), was a son-in-law of R. Yosef Leib Bloch of Telz. Renowned from his youth as an outstanding Torah scholar, he headed the Kollel in Telz. In 1940, R. Chaim Mordechai travelled to the USA together with his brother-in-law R. Eliyahu Meir Bloch, on a perilous journey via Siberia and Japan, to attempt to rescue the Yeshiva students and their families who remained in war-ravaged Telz. Upon their arrival in the US, they reestablished the Yeshiva in Cleveland, Ohio.
