Beautiful “Teudas Chaver” signed by the five Dayanim of Prague, including R. Shmuel Landau who signed ”at the Behest of My Father HaGaon R. Yechezkel Av Beis Din of Prague”.
R. Shmuel Landau (1750-1834), was the son and student of R. Yechezkel Landau (Noda B’Yehuda) whom he succeeded as Rav in Prague. He was instrumental in publishing his father’s seforim to which he added many of his own glosses. His responsa were published in the sefer Shivas Tzion.
R. Elozor Fleckles (1754-1826), was a descendent of the MaHarAL of Prague and R. Heschel of Cracow. In his youth he learned for two years under R. Meir Fishelis and for ten years under the Noda B’Yehuda and he became one of his most prominent talmidim. He first served as Rov of Kojetein and in 1783, he was invited by the Noda B’Yehuda to serve on the Beis Din in Prague, eventually heading the Beis Din together with the Noda B’Yehuda’s son R. Shmuel. He was one of the greatest Poskim of his era and his halachic responsa Teshuva M’Ahavah is one of the classic Sifrei Achronim, studied in great depth.
R. Shlomo Zalman Emrich (died 1793), was a Dayan on the Beis Din of the Noda B’Yehuda in Prague where he later served as Rosh Beis Din. He was one of the greatest Talmidei Chachomim of his period and R. Akiva Eiger referred to him as “HaGadol ShB’Doreinu”. Although he wrote a large amount of novella unfortunately only a small portion was published under the title “Shisha Za’aronei Arugah” (Prague 1789).
R. Michoel Bachrach (born 1710), was a grandson of R. Yair Chaim Bachrach (Chavas Yair). He served a Dayan on the Beis Din of the Noda B’Yehuda in Prague as well as Rosh Yeshiva in Prague. Known as a tremendous Talmid Chochom he authored Novella under the tile Arugas Ha’Bosem.
R. Yaakov Ginzburg (died 1798), was a Dayan on the Beis Din of the Noda B’Yehuda in Prague as well as Rosh Yeshiva in Prague. He was a Talmid of R. Meir Fishelis. He later served as Rav in Holishau. He had many distinguished talmidim most notably R. Nochum Triebish (author of the Sefer Kovetz on the Rambam). Author of sefer Zera Yaakov (Prague 1814).
