ABBY JUNGE
/'æbi//'jʊəŋgə/ f, s, Artist. Creator. Work in progress.
HI, I’m Abby Junge, nice to meet you, I’ve always loved making stuff, and I went through many creative jobs before I actually called myself an artist,
I’m a full-time artist, and full-time mother and not very good at maths, because I also have a few other part time jobs. I’m also a recovering full-time perfectionist, which is why I’ve fallen in love with linoleum.
Linoleum is unforgiving, a wrong cut, and well, its cut. So, I’ve had to learn to let go, and the process is a big part of my art. Also, taking life less seriously, is an important part of my art, which comes with laughing at myself, and at life. It all is just very funny, and I have enough seriousness to worry me in life.
By creating my art, I get a win-win, because I remind myself of my work-in-progress within myself, and laugh at my bumps and hiccups in life, and so then they become smaller and easier to deal with. And mostly, I hope that when you look at it, you can smile and realize that life is comical.
In 2019, I’m sure someone else has done what I’ve done, but I do it for me, and the process, of thinking, sketching, cutting and printing, is the reason I create. The result is just a cool bonus, that looks good in a frame on your wall.
