1984 Mint Set in Original Government Packaging, 13 Coins Inside!!. Starting 1984 the outer envelopes would feature colorful illustrations or images that would change each year of offering. This was a change from the plain white envelopes that had been used for the Mint Sets of the past two decades.decades. Both set included the P&D Kennedy Half Dollars, P&D Washington Quarters, P&D Roosevelt Dimes, P&D Jefferson Nickels, and P&D Lincoln Cents. Completing the set were two mint tokens struck in copper plated bronze. These tokens contained the letter “P” and “D” to represent each mint facility. The 1984 Mint Set packaging had upper dark brown and lower light brown colors separated by red, white, and blue. The outside of the envelope had printing “1984 Uncirculated Coin Set”, “United States Mint”, and the mint marks “D” and “P”.
