1921 Evreux Commune (France) 10 Centimes Grades AU, Almost Unc. Évreux is a commune in and the capital of the department of Eure, in the French region of Normandy. The communauté d'agglomération Évreux Portes de Normandie has 62 communes. When the Germans pulled out of France after World War I, French money was in short supply. Some cities already had the right to issue banknotes, and those in the occupied zone were able to circulate emergency currency to help commerce get back to normal. These coins were minted in Aluminum, or an Aluminum-Bronze alloy.
