2x 1972 United States Mint Proof Set! A total of 10 Coins Inside, 5 each!. Up for Auction is 2 1972 Proof Set In Original Envelope! The 1972 Proof Set contained a total of five coins. The coins included the Lincoln Cent, Jefferson Nickel, Roosevelt Dime, Washington Quarter, and Kennedy Half Dollar. All coins were produced at the San Francisco Mint and carried the “S” mint mark. The five coins were placed in a rigid plastic holder with the coins held in place by a black plastic insert. The holder was placed into a blue cardboard box.
