***Auction Highlight*** 1850-p Gold Liberty Double Eagle $20 Graded ms62 details By SEGS. The large inflows of California gold after 1849 resulted in two new gold denominations: the one dollar in 1849 and the the twenty dollar or double eagle in 1850. The Philadelphia Mint struck more than 1.17 million pieces of the 1850 twenty dollar. The date is extremely popular as the first year of the regular issue for the type and denomination, and is one of the more available dates of the type. Surviving specimens grade mostly Very Fine to About Uncirculated, and Mint State pieces are in fairly short supply. Light hairlines account for the details grade, none of which can be seen with the naked eye. The yellow-gold surfaces of this MS62 details example show significant semiprooflikeness in the fields, and the design motifs are generally well struck. A Corey's Pick, Bid to Win, Don't let it get Away, you might not find its equal Coin. I give this coin my highest recommendation
