***Auction Highlight*** 1893-s Morgan Dollar $1 Graded au55+ By SEGS. Up for auction is the rarest of the rare. The legendary 1893-s Morgan Dollar. This example is far and away the finest example we have had the privilege to bring to auction. I have given you closeups of the key pick up points and some detail elements. When authenticating an 1893-s, you can spot the line in the T in even the very lowest grades. As some background into this Numismatic Legend; The financial Panic of 1893 brought about the repeal of the Sherman Silver Purchase Act and put an end to the mandated production of millions of unneeded silver dollars every year. Mintages of Morgan dollars were drastically reduced at all active U.S. Mints and the Carson City facility was closed for coinage operations after 1893. Only 100,000 Morgan dollars were struck at the San Francisco Mint that year, the smallest production total of the series. The 1893-S is the acknowledged key to the series today, and high-grade specimens are especially elusive. The present coin is an attractive Choice AU specimen, with just a touch of wear on the well-detailed design elements. Both sides retain significant amounts of original mint luster, with traces of proof like reflectivity in selected areas. A few hints of golden-tan and lavender toning visit the lightly abraded surface. I have included three pictures of pcgs graded 1893-s for reference, and shown the accompanying grade. Please look carefully as This coins does not come along often. Good Luck! A Corey's Pick, Bid to Win, Don't let it get Away, you might not find its equal Coin. I give this coin my highest recommendation
